Limon is a perfect 4-0 against Wray since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Badgers will welcome the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Limon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Limon turned things around against St. Mary's on Wednesday. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Badgers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Brooks Scherrer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Limon is 5-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Scherrer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Braxten Churchwell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Haflich, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Limon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wray had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Cowboys. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 25th.
Wray pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Limon, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Limon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wray struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
