Brookfield is 9-1 against New Fairfield since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Brookfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Brookfield's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Kolbe-Cathedral. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Chloe Fitzgerald, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Olivia Sinapi was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, New Fairfield can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Stratford 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted since May 11, 2024.
Briana Puff was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. Puff was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lindsey Briggs was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Callahan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
New Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Brookfield, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Brookfield took their victory against New Fairfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
