If the Washington Rams were feeling good off their 61-24 takedown of the Sierra Linda Bulldogs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Washington took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckeye on Monday. Washington has not had much luck with Buckeye recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Washington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Channel Ochoa, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ilana Bread, who scored nine points.
Isabel Ramirez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Buckeye, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiria Avila escarcega, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Buckeye, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Washington will head out on the road to challenge Youngker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Youngker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Monday. As for Buckeye, they will be playing at home against Kofa at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kofa is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
