Given Franklin Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Carmel is ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brooklyn York was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Erica Buening, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Franklin Community's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.2 points. As for Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
