Easton Area and Freedom are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Easton Area Rovers will head out on the road to square off against the Freedom Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Easton Area is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Easton Area, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-39 loss to East Stroudsburg North.
Despite their loss, Easton Area saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeremy Henry, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Andrew Hoadley was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Freedom's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-38 loss at the hands of Allentown Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, Freedom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Allentown Central Catholic is ranked 42nd).
Easton Area's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Easton Area came up short against Freedom when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 57-51. Can Easton Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
