The Valley Falls Dragons lost against the Oskaloosa Bears back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Valley Falls took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oskaloosa.
Despite the loss, Valley Falls still got an impressive performance from Korie Kirkwood, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 61% of Valley Falls' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Schmelzle, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Valley Falls has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Oskaloosa, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Valley Falls on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oskaloosa at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Oskaloosa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Falls at 6:00 p.m.
