The Motivation Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-54 to TECH Freire Charter. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Motivation of the 73-65 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Motivation saw an underclassman step up: Chace White scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amare Gadson, who scored ten points.
TECH Freire Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zymear Hashim led the charge by scoring 18 points. Omar Leach was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Motivation's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for TECH Freire Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Motivation will take on Philadelphia Military Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Philadelphia Military Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. TECH Freire Charter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on January 12th. Franklin Learning Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 740th, while TECH Freire Charter is ranked 298th).
