The West Mifflin Titans will challenge the Laurel Highlands Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. West Mifflin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
West Mifflin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oakland Catholic with a sharp 13-4 win on Wednesday. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on KALEIGH TATTERS, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was TAYLOR KRIVANEK, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
TATTERS wasn't the only one making solid contact: West Mifflin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Laurel Highlands fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Belle Vernon on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 7-6.
Payton Senge put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over nine innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Senge was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Aubrey Speelman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Kayla Howell was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
West Mifflin's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Laurel Highlands, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Mifflin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Laurel Highlands struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
