Elite Scholars Academy found their leader in underclassman Jerel Clark, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Clark hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of D?allo Wiley, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why McNair lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kente Taylor. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Williams, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Elite Scholars Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for McNair, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elite Scholars Academy will face off against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 contests -- so hopefully Elite Scholars Academy likes a good challenge. As for McNair, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Columbia's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while McNair has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
