The Crystal City Javelinas waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 48-44 W over Hondo. For Crystal City, this counts as revenge for the 47-43 loss Hondo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Lyndsie Bosquez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Breana Hernandez, who scored seven points.
Crystal City is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season. As for Hondo, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crystal City will take on Cotulla at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Crystal City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for Hondo, they will head out on the road to square off against Lytle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 57.7 points so far this season, Lytle's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Hondo better be ready for a challenge.
