Wylie East and Sachse are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Raiders will welcome the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Tuesday, Wylie East made easy work of North Garland and carried off a 23-1 victory. Considering Wylie East has won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Maddux made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Flores, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Kimma Kincaid was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Wylie East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sachse). They never let Lakeview Centennial get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Like Wylie East, Sachse also got a great game from a two-way player: Logan Schultz. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Schultz has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Maya Mcclarity was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Shelby Siratt, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple.
Wylie East's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sachse, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
Everything went Wylie East's way against Sachse in their previous matchup back in March, as Wylie East made off with a 12-6 win. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
