Millville came out on top against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Quakers never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Quakers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Evan Brokenshire made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Brokenshire was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Curtis Whitmoyer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Dylan Brokenshire was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Millville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbia Montour Vo-Tech struck out six times.
The win made it two in a row for Millville and bumps their season record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
