The Memorial Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 46-20 defeat at the hands of Chaney. Memorial has not had much luck with Chaney recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Diamon Sims was Memorial's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Sims also led the team in rebounds with seven.
Angeliz Diaz took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
It was another big night for Alyssa Brown, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals for Chaney. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Alexandria Pete was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Memorial's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Chaney, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will take on Garfield at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Garfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday. As for Chaney, they will head out on the road to challenge Ursuline at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
