Rocky Mountain extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping their season record up to 17-5 in the process. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Loveland Red Wolves. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Champ Rivera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rivera was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Wrigley Cox was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Eli Murphy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Rocky Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive matches.
As for Loveland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.
On Loveland's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Martin, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Karter Butler, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs.
Looking ahead, Rocky Mountain will challenge ThunderRidge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Lobos' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Grizzlies have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Loveland, they will square off against Northglenn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
