Bibb County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Helena Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bibb County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Helena in Alabama (Bibb County is ranked 94th, while Helena is ranked 220th).
Last Tuesday, Bibb County was the victim of a tough 68-42 defeat at the hands of Homewood.
Meanwhile, Helena's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Chelsea at home by a decisive 43-26 margin.
Despite the loss, Helena had strong showings from Mardel Orozco, who scored 7 points, and Amari Grant, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds. Grant scored a full 26.9% of Helena's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bibb County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Helena, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Bibb County came up short against Helena when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 37-33. Can Bibb County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
