Arkoma has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Clayton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Arkoma suffered a rough 66-41 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Arkoma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Wildcats are ranked 222nd).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-34, which was the final score in Clayton's tilt against the Panthers on Thursday. Clayton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Shelton Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Brayden McDaniel was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Arkoma's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Clayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
Arkoma might still be hurting after the 70-45 loss they got from the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2015. Can Arkoma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
