Savoy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Dodd City Hornets at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Savoy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win.
Meanwhile, Dodd City had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fannindel 70-38 on the road. Dodd City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Savoy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. As for Dodd City, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7.
Savoy might still be hurting after the 49-27 defeat they got from Dodd City in their previous matchup on January 2nd. Can Savoy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
