Softball Recap: Cupertino Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Cupertino won the last time they faced Monta Vista and things went their way on Monday too. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Matadors. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won 11 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cupertino got a massive performance out of Purani Muthuvedi, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Muthuvedi has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Dayoung Jung, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Cupertino pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.4 runs over those games. As for Monta Vista, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
