Eaglecrest took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Cherry Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raptors had just enough and edged out the Bruins 3-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Raptors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Eaglecrest was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-101), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 25-18, 16-14.

Eaglecrest can attribute much of their success to Ella Mack, who had 14 digs and two aces, and Caitlin Lengefeld, who had 15 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Lengefeld has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, Ponderosa came up short against Legend on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-8.
Eaglecrest's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Ponderosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

It's a different story for Ponderosa, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 blocks. Given Eaglecrest's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
