The Frederick Golden Eagles will head out to take on the Monarch Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frederick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Frederick turned things around against Centaurus on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Warriors.
Cyle Rarden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Zaiah Jones was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Isaac Lefevre was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Monarch didn't have quite enough to beat Holy Family on Tuesday and fell 5-4.
Monarch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Venne, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Monarch has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Frederick, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-8.
Monarch's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Frederick has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monarch, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Frederick keep running through batters, or will the Coyotes buck the trend?
Frederick was able to grind out a solid win over Monarch in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
