While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 453rd in Georgia, while Russell County is ranked 71st in Alabama).
When it comes to explaining why Northside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Barrington Adams. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Saylor, who scored seven points.
Northside's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Russell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
