Basketball Recap: Alchesay Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ramona Gregg and Lenea Lavender

Alchesay lost against Blue Ridge back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alchesay Falcons received a blow as they fell 56-41 to the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alchesay's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lenea Lavender, who posted 13 points, and Ramona Gregg, who put up six points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Gregg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Alchesay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Blue Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Alchesay won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Payson at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Payson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season. As for Blue Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Holbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holbrook will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Blue Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
