District 10 Region 4 AA recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 4 AA this week, Girard beat Corry 31-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
North East scaled the state rankings by moving to 347 from 375 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Grape Pickers were able to move up by beating Northwestern 24-14.
Nathainel Smith put up the best numbers through the air as the Beavers fell to Girard. He finished with 19 completions for 246 yards and 1 touchdown. Smith's favorite target this week was Collyn Frontera, who caught 7 passes for 154 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Corry's Smith and Liam Cragg have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Smith has thrown for 1,081 yards this season, while Cragg has 25 catches for 407 yards. Shannon Jackson from Fairview leads the league in rushing with 1,350 yards.
The Tigers' offense has racked up 267 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Wildcats have allowed only 69 on the year.
An important game coming up in District 10 Region 4 AA this week will be when Fairview takes on Northwestern. Jim Brinling's team is currently in fourth, while DJ Hough's team is in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Tigers and the Wildcats face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Fairview comes in having scored 267 this season, while Northwestern has scored 126. The Tigers scored 13 points last week as they fell to Fort LeBoeuf.
Seneca took down Harbor Creek 32-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
