When it comes to explaining why Mesick lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kayla McCoy. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points along with five steals. McCoy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Rylee Blach was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Mesick's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pentwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Mesick will look to defend their home court on Friday against Crossroads Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. Crossroads Charter Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Pentwater, they will square off against Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
