The Highland Huskies will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the St. John Bosco Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Highland has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Kendrick at home by a decisive 80-64 margin on Thursday. Even though they lost, Highland's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Noah Watson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Ty Goeckner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. John Bosco Academy came up short against Deary on Tuesday and fell 63-56. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John Bosco Academy in their matchups with Deary: they've now lost four in a row.
Highland's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for St. John Bosco Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything went Highland's way against St. John Bosco Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Highland made off with a 64-42 win. With Highland ahead 44-23 at the half, the match was all but over already.
