Whitmire has struggled against Lewisville recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Lewisville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Grissom, who threw for 290 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Grissom is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damion Fee, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Whitmire's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Lewisville, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
