It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Leesville Wampus Cats can now relate to. They took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Martinville. Leesville's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Leesville still got an impressive performance from Xavier Ford, who rushed for 291 yards and five touchdowns. Ford is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Izaiah Farley was another key contributor, picking up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leesville's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for St. Martinville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Leesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Martinville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jennings.
