The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lapeer West, who defeated 89th ranked Fenton, 14-13.
Marquavian Stephens of Swartz Creek ran for the longest rushing play in Flint Metro this season against Linden last week. Stephens ran for 65 yards on the play and finished with 225 on the day as his team lost to the Eagles.
Swartz Creek's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brendon Fitch threw for 313 and 4 touchdowns and Jacob Littles had 157 yards receiving. On the ground Stephens chipped in 225 yards. Brandyn Matte helped Swartz Creek's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 114 yards.
Stephens was a force in the backfield as Brad Brown's team fell to Linden.
Noah Sargent provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dennis Hopkins' team bested the Dragons. He completed 19 passes for 332 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 81 yards. Sargent's key target this week was Marshael Ryan, who caught 4 passes for 94 yards.
He went 18-30 with 2 interceptions.
Fitch put up the best numbers in passing as Swartz Creek fell to the Eagles. Fitch's favorite target this week was Littles, who caught 9 passes for 157 yards.
The Dragons' Fitch and Matte have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fitch has thrown for 2,165 yards this season, while Matte has 37 catches for 724 yards. Matt Sears from Brandon leads the league in rushing with 1,041 yards.
At the moment, the Panthers are in first, while Linden is in third.
Lapeer West added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Tigers, 14-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the Mike Smith's team.
