Baseball Recap: Beekman Charter Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Beekman Charter brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Downsville Demons on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Keylan Sandidge made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Sandidge was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he's scored this season.

In other batting news, Gauge Yeldell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Cade Diel was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Beekman Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Beekman Charter pushed their record up to 1-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Downsville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beekman Charter will square off against Forest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Downsville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Eunice at 11:00 a.m.
