The New Braunfels Unicorns will square off against the Pieper Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Braunfels is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, New Braunfels earned a 27-17 victory over Boerne-Champion. Those 27 points were actually the fewest the Unicorns have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

LEVI GOLLA had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 93 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 220 yards and one touchdown. CAYDEN MILLS also helped out with an impressive 101 receiving yards.
New Braunfels didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Boerne-Champion to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank LANDIN JACKSON for the heroic effort on defense: he. New Braunfels hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.54 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
New Braunfels didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of KANE BUNCH and KINGSTON BROWN. Another thorn in Boerne-Champion's side was JAITH NESS, who picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pieper). They strolled past Seguin with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-42. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Matadors are ranked 336th).
Pieper's win came from a few key players New Braunfels will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chase Lyons, who threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 301 passing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Cash Lancaster, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
The win got Pieper back to even at 3-3. As for New Braunfels, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. New Braunfels has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 194.3 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Pieper has preferred to attack from the air: they average 311 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
New Braunfels ended up a good deal behind Pieper in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, losing 49-35. Thankfully for the Unicorns, Isaiah Champagne (who picked up 164 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
