Riverside is 8-2 against Oak Hill since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Riverside Warriors will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Oak Hill Red Devils at 8:00 p.m. Riverside is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Riverside earned a 47-35 victory over Lincoln County. The win was just what Riverside needed coming off of a 72-32 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Starsick, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ava Ward, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds.
Even though Oak Hill has not done well against Capital recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Oak Hill blew past Capital 69-29 on the road. Oak Hill's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Riverside's record now sits at 1-4. Oak Hill's record now sits at 2-4.
Riverside beat Oak Hill 46-35 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Riverside repeat their success, or does Oak Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
