When it comes to explaining why Cypress Lake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Giordan Easely. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven assists and three steals. The game was Easely's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacques Duversone, who scored 16 points.
Coral Gables' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bruno Sanchez led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. Noah Berumen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Cypress Lake has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Coral Gables, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Cypress Lake will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Estero at 10:40 a.m. Estero is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Coral Gables will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Cardinal Gibbons at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th.
