Baseball Recap: Lamar Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lamar and Park Place Christian Academy, and Lamar kept the tradition alive. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 14-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Raiders have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sullivan Reed was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Whitcomb, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Park Place Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .250.

Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Park Place Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-16 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lamar beat the Crusaders by a score of 13-6 later that day.
