Jefferson hasn't had much luck against White River recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders will challenge the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Jefferson was handed a 14-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Kennedy Catholic. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Molly Burt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Marina Guillen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, White River got the win against Auburn Mountainview on Monday by a conclusive 17-5. Considering the Hornets have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Natalie Harris was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Abby Akins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kairi Smith-Bernetskie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
White River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn Mountainview only posted an OBP of .407.
Jefferson's record is now 5-7. As for White River, their record now sits at 8-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jefferson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like White River struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jefferson might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from White River when the teams last played back in March. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
