Baseball Recap: Hamburg's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It was a good run, but Hamburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Clarence Red Devils by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Dylan Monczynski was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Jonah Moscato made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Erik Huggler-Canfield also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hamburg's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Clarence, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamburg will take on Frontier at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarence, they will head out to face off against Williamsville East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
