The Westmoreland Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Lancaster Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westmoreland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Westmoreland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Middlesex by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Emma Burgess was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lancaster entered their tilt with Chincoteague on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Ponies 15-2. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Like Westmoreland, Lancaster also got a great game from a two-way player: Braelyn Johnson. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Isabella Gill was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Ayla Saunders was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lancaster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Lancaster pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Westmoreland, their record now sits at 10-8.
Westmoreland might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Lancaster in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
