The Soddy Daisy Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Silverdale Academy Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Soddy Daisy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 22nd).
Last Monday, Soddy Daisy was the victim of a tough 56-34 loss at the hands of Rhea County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Soddy Daisy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Silverdale Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 73-60 victory over Heritage. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brett Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Judah Richardson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Soddy Daisy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Silverdale Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Soddy Daisy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Silverdale Academy in their previous meeting back in November. Can Soddy Daisy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
