Given TECH Freire Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Motivation is ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
TECH Freire Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zymear Hashim led the charge by scoring 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Leach, who scored 16 points.
Despite the defeat, Motivation saw an underclassman step up: Chace White scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amare Gadson, who scored ten points.
TECH Freire Charter's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Motivation, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
