The Stigler Panthers were the 63-49 winner over the Talihina Golden Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Stigler fell to Talihina 40-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stigler has scored all season.
Kaidon Potts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Talihina, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Potts also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Ramses Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Stigler and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Talihina, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Stigler will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sallisaw at 7:30 p.m. Sallisaw will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Stigler is ranked 116th). As for Talihina, Talihina and Cameron will face off at 8:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cameron is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
