The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will head out on the road to  face off against  the Chaparral Wolverines at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. Chaparral took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Vista, who comes in off a win.
 Mountain Vista will head into Wednesday's  contest on the come-up: they were handed a two-run  defeat in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Highlands Ranch  on Wednesday. Mountain Vista never let Highlands Ranch onto the board and left with  a   9-0  victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Mountain Vista has managed all season.
  Chase Ruden looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Alex King was a standout: he scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Austin Leonard, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Chaparral faced Legend in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Chaparral lost  10-1 to Legend.
 Chaparral also got a good showing from  Becket Bacon, who   pitched four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits.
 At the plate, Chaparral saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Josh McWilliams, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Mountain Vista's victory bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for Chaparral, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record  this season.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.4  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.1. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
