Hillsboro is a perfect 3-0 against Mauston since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillsboro has four straight wins, Mauston has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hillsboro had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Wonewoc-Center on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Wolves 13-0. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 19, 2025 (when they won 15-2).

Mauston's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Hillsboro has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mauston, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Hillsboro keep running through batters, or will the Golden Eagles buck the trend?
Hillsboro got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Mauston by a conclusive 19-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
