The Jacksonville Cardinals stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by New Bern on the road to the tune of 66-36. With Jacksonville ahead 46-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Kelize Velez-Galan, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ama Baldwin, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Jacksonville pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for New Bern, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
Jacksonville will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Havelock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Cardinals are ranked 92nd). As for New Bern, they will head out on the road to challenge the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
