After a string of six wins, the Fort Calhoun Pioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 64-43 loss at the hands of Concordia. The game was a close 27-25 at the break, but unfortunately for Fort Calhoun it sure didn't stay that way.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Travis Skelton, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skelton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Bouwman, who scored 16 points.
Fort Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Concordia, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Calhoun will take on Mead at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mead will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Concordia, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lincoln Christian. Lincoln Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Concordia is ranked 11th).
