The Woodsboro Eagles were the 22-20 winner over the Agua Dulce Longhorns when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Woodsboro was outmatched by Agua Dulce on the road and fell 45-14. Woodsboro was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.
Woodsboro's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amarian Zambezi, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Brenner Kurtz who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Lane Ranly was a one-man wrecking crew for Agua Dulce as he threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Bryan King and his 108 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Agua Dulce's victory.
Woodsboro's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Agua Dulce, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Woodsboro will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bruni at 7:00 p.m. Bruni will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Agua Dulce, they will head out on the road to face off against Pettus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
