The McMichael Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the West Stokes Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Rockingham County scored an imposing 62 points on Thursday, McMichael still came out on top. McMichael snuck past Rockingham County with a 66-62 victory. 66 seems to be a good number for McMichael as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Isaiah Belcher was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jace Dunn, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, even though East Surry scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, West Stokes still came out on top. West Stokes secured a 62-56 W over East Surry. Winning may never get old, but West Stokes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Their wins bumped McMichael to 2-4 and Rockingham County to 2-2.
McMichael took a serious blow against West Stokes when the teams last played back in January, falling 71-38. Can McMichael avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
