Our Lady of Mercy Academy had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Cumberland Christian Crusaders 16-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Villagers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2018.
Teegan Sofran was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Sofran was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Isabel Quinlan was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Devin Powell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Our Lady of Mercy Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Coming up, Our Lady of Mercy Academy will venture away from home to square off against Holy Spirit at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Villagers will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Cumberland Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gloucester County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
