Eads has won nine straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Stratton has won nine straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Eads will welcome Stratton at 4:00 p.m. Eads is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.
Eads made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Evangel Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Eads was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Evangel Christian Academy on Saturday. That's two games straight that Eads has won by exactly six runs.
Johnathan Vasquez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Stockton Mitchek was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Eads was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Stratton can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cheyenne Wells 8-7.
Stratton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Von Isenbart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The Eagles are 2-1 when Isenbart posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another was Grady Steerman, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Stratton's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Eads, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eads has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .547. However, it's not like Stratton struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eads' way against Stratton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Eads made off with a 13-5 win. Does Eads have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stratton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
