Mount St. Mary Academy was dealt a 73-22 loss at the hands of the Warhawks on Saturday. Mount St. Mary Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.
West Seneca West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Ecker, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Ecker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Gunnells, who scored 15 points.
Mount St. Mary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for West Seneca West, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount St. Mary Academy will take on the Magic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Mercy Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for West Seneca West, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Amber Murak and Ecker.
