Hermon has gone 9-1 against John Bapst Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Hawks will head out to face off against the Crusaders at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hermon has seven straight victories, John Bapst Memorial has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hermon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Brewer, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Hermon was ranked first). The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Witches on Monday.

She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Waning, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Katie Fowler was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hermon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, John Bapst Memorial lost 17-10 to Mount Desert Island on Thursday. Even if the Crusaders couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Hermon pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for John Bapst Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Everything went Hermon's way against John Bapst Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Hermon made off with a 15-9 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
