After a disappointing 7 points in the contest before, Mount Vernon made sure to put some points up on the board against Monroe on Friday. Mount Vernon came out on top against Monroe by a score of 45-34. Monroe can consider this payback for the 7-58 defeat they dealt Mount Vernon the last time the teams encountered one another. The matchup pushed Monroe down to 1-4 and pulled Mount Vernon up to the reverse at 4-1.
Next week Mount Vernon take on Mariner at 7:00 PM. Those two teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous games. As for Monroe, they will face off against Jackson. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
